GVA performed basic design of a New Semi Submersible Crane Vessel (NSSCV) in cooperation with Heerema Offshore Services. The Vessel is classed with Lloyd’s Register. The NSSCV is designed for a service life of 30-years.

The NSSCV is designed for worldwide operations. The vessel and its supporting systems will mainly be designed for heavy lifting and deep water lifting work at a variety of offshore sites around the world.

GVA has contributed in the feasibility and conceptual phase. Results from the concept phase were used as input for the basic design.

Jurong Shipyard was appointed as the builder for the project. The builder then engages Frigstad Engineering Singapore as a consultant to conduct an independent verification for design optimization for the NSSCV.

The objective of the study was to do basic design optimization to reduce the steel scantling weight. This is done by doing iteration works and alternative method / approach in the analysis. As the result, FES has successfully reduced the total steel scantling weight by about 2,500 MT.
